Hollywood Smile in Rabat
A “Hollywood Smile” is a cosmetic project for the whole smile: the shape, shade and harmony of the visible teeth. It is prepared after an examination, with a trial before any final step.
Dr Morabit sees patients by appointment at the practice in Rabat.
What is it?
The term refers to a smile makeover most often carried out with ceramic veneers or crowns, made by a dental laboratory. The technique depends on the condition of your teeth: healthy, well-positioned teeth are not treated like damaged or heavily discoloured ones.
The aim is a harmonious smile suited to your face, not the same model for everyone.
Who is it for?
- Discoloured teeth that whitening cannot correct.
- Worn or damaged teeth, or teeth of irregular shape or size.
- Gaps between the teeth or a smile that lacks harmony.
Cavities, inflamed gums or teeth clenched at night must be treated or taken into account before any cosmetic project.
What you can expect
See before you decide
The temporary trial lets you judge the shape and length of the teeth in your face, before any final step.
A smile that suits you
Shade, shape and proportions are discussed with you. The project aims for harmony with your lips and face, not a uniform white.
Several sessions
Treatment generally takes several appointments spread over a few weeks, depending on the number of teeth and the technique.
Regular upkeep
You look after ceramic like a tooth: brushing, cleaning between the teeth and regular check-ups.
The steps
- Consultation and examination. Your expectations, the condition of your teeth and gums, and an X-ray if needed.
- Photos and impressions. They are used to prepare the project with the dental laboratory.
- Project and trial. A design of your future smile is prepared, then tried in the mouth temporarily, so that you can judge the result before going further.
- Written plan and estimate. The chosen technique, the number of teeth, the sessions and the cost, before any decision.
- Preparation and temporaries. The teeth are prepared according to the chosen technique; temporary teeth are fitted.
- Final fitting. The veneers or crowns made by the dental laboratory are tried in, adjusted and then bonded.
- Check-up. A follow-up visit checks the gums and your bite.
The number of sessions varies with the technique and the number of teeth; it is set out in the treatment plan.
During the consultation
- What bothers you about your smile and what you would like to change.
- An examination of your teeth, gums and bite, with an X-ray if needed.
- Identifying any care needed before a cosmetic project.
- The possible techniques for your teeth, including the simplest ones when they are enough.
Veneers or crowns?
| How it works | When | |
|---|---|---|
| Veneers | A thin shell bonded to the visible surface of the tooth. | Fairly healthy teeth whose shape or shade you want to change. |
| Crowns | A cap that covers the whole tooth. | Damaged teeth, root-treated teeth or teeth with large restorations. |
Limits and precautions
- Preparing the teeth is usually irreversible: the project and the trial are there so that you decide with full information.
- Ceramic can crack or come loose; clenching your teeth or biting on objects increases this risk.
- The gum around the edges may change over time.
- Temporary sensitivity is possible after the teeth are prepared.
- No lifespan is guaranteed: it depends on hygiene, habits and check-ups.
The alternatives
- Whitening, if only the shade bothers you.
- Aligners, if the problem comes mainly from the position of the teeth.
- Just a few veneers, or touch-ups in composite.
These solutions can also be combined: straightening or whitening first sometimes reduces the number of teeth to treat.
Care and follow-up
Brushing, cleaning between the teeth and regular check-ups. If you clench your teeth at night, a protective night guard may be advised.
Avoid biting on hard objects (pens, nails, fruit stones) and report a loose piece or a chip without delay: a small repair is often simpler than a replacement.
Cost
The cost depends on the number of teeth, the technique (veneers or crowns) and any care needed beforehand. It is given to you in writing after the consultation and the trial of the project.
Frequently asked questions
Do the teeth have to be filed down?
It depends on the technique. Veneers often require light preparation, crowns more extensive preparation. The dentist explains what is planned for your teeth before any decision.
Will the result look natural?
The project is designed and tried in with you before the final steps: shape and shade are discussed and adjusted.
How long does it take?
Several sessions spread over a few weeks, depending on the number of teeth and the technique. The schedule is included in the treatment plan.
Does it hurt?
The preparations are carried out under local anaesthesia. Temporary sensitivity is possible.
How many teeth need treating?
It depends on your smile: the teeth visible when you smile are generally treated. The exact number is discussed during the project and set out in the plan.
A clinical consultation is needed to determine whether this treatment is right for you.
