Can I see the result before treatment starts?
Yes, in general. A smile trial, called a mock-up, temporarily places the planned shape of the future teeth in your mouth without touching them, so that you can judge it and ask for adjustments.
Veneers and Hollywood Smile
Before any irreversible step, the dentist can offer you a smile trial. Using photos and impressions, a model of the future teeth is prepared, then reproduced temporarily in the mouth with a resin placed over your teeth, without preparing them.
You can then look at yourself in the mirror, smile, talk and take photos. This is the ideal moment to give your opinion on the length, the shape or the overall look, and to discuss it with those close to you if you wish.
The adjustments you ask for are built into the project. Once it is approved, it serves as a guide for preparing the teeth and for the dental laboratory making the veneers or crowns.
The trial gives an accurate idea of proportions, but not of the exact translucency of the final ceramic. The dentist explains what the mock-up lets you judge and what will be refined later.
This is a general answer. Only a consultation at the practice can tell what suits your situation.
