Will I receive an estimate before treatment starts?
Yes. For any treatment proposed after the consultation, a detailed written estimate is given to you before treatment starts. No treatment in the estimate is started without your agreement.
The practice and appointments
The practice does not give prices before examining your mouth, because every situation is different. After the consultation, the dentist draws up a treatment plan and gives you a written estimate that sets out its different steps.
The estimate lists the planned procedures, the chosen materials and, where relevant, any additional examinations. When several solutions are possible, an estimate can be drawn up for each so that you can compare.
You can take the estimate away, read it through calmly, discuss it with those close to you and ask your questions before committing. Treatment only begins once you have agreed.
Sometimes an unexpected situation arises during treatment, for example a cavity deeper than expected. In that case, the dentist explains it and discusses it with you before changing the initial plan.
This is a general answer. Only a consultation at the practice can tell what suits your situation.
